Optimum supply for the body
In contrast to the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K, the B vitamins are water-soluble. Our body can hardly store them, if at all. This is why we have to constantly take them in with our food. Meat, fish, eggs, milk, wholemeal products, cereals and pulses are particularly rich in B vitamins, while only cobalamin (vitamin B12) is found exclusively in animal products. It can be particularly useful for people who follow a vegetarian or vegan diet to take vitamin B12 as a dietary supplement. It is important for cell division, haematopoiesis and normal nerve function.
Why B vitamins are important
B vitamins complement each other to some extent and contribute, for example, to normal energy metabolism, the reduction of tiredness, normal functioning of the nervous system and normal mental performance.
