Alpha-lipoic acid
Alpha-lipoic acid, also known as alpha-lipoic acid and thioctic acid, is similar in its properties to a vitamin. In particular, it is water and fat soluble and can pass the blood-brain barrier. It can also bind to heavy metals and be excreted with them.
