Maca

Maca is a tuber that occurs naturally in the high altitudes of the Andes in Peru. Peruvians traditionally use maca for its positive effects on physical and mental health. What many people don't realise is that there are several types of maca, each with a different phytochemical composition and a different effectiveness. Black maca is considered typical "men's maca" due to the particular proportions of the characteristic components of maca (such as glucosinolates and lignans). Yellow maca (with other glucosinolates), on the other hand, is regarded more as "women's maca". The result is a broad-spectrum extract that retains the natural properties of the original plant. Incidentally, Ixoreal deliberately chooses to use only unsprayed ashwagandha plants. Maca (Lepidium peruvianum Chacon, root), bulking agent (microcrystalline cellulose [cellulose gel]), ashwagandha extract (Withania somnifera, root, contains milk), monk's pepper extract (Vitex agnus-castus, fruit), anti-caking agent (silicon dioxide, magnesium salts of fatty acids, hydroxypropyl cellulose), coating agent (hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose), saffron extract (Crocus sativus, stigma), humectant (glycerol).

Recommended dosage

Take 1-2 tablets per day with water with a meal (preferably at breakfast). Use during the entire menstrual cycle. Suitable for vegetarians (not for vegans).

Note

If you have hyperthyroidism or are taking thyroid medication, you should consult a doctor before using a supplement containing ashwagandha. Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
