- Vitamin B12 in biologically active form as methylcobalamin
- plus probiotic bacteria and beetroot
Mandatory for vegetarians
Vitamin B12 supports the formation of red blood cells, energy metabolism, normal neurological and psychological functions. Methylcobalamin is the most common form of vitamin B12 in the central nervous system (brain) and in the blood. It is mainly found in cell plasma. Methylcobalamin promotes the conversion of homocysteine, a toxic waste product of our metabolism, into methionine.
Methylcobalamin is also a precursor of S-adenosylmethionine (SAM). SAM is involved in the formation of important neurotransmitters such as serotonin, dopamine and acetylcholine. This explains why vitamin B12 contributes to normal mental function. In addition, methylcobalamin reactivates inactive folic acid that is no longer required into its metabolically active folate form.
Vitamin B12 is an essential micronutrient
The reference value per day is only 2.5µg (µg = micrograms or millionths of a gram) = 0,000,002,5 grams. That's 0.075 g over the course of a human life - less than the weight of a grain of cereal, but still enough to supply all the body's cells with the important vitamin B12. Like vitamin D, vitamin B12 is only found in animal foods such as meat, milk or cheese. Our body cannot produce it itself. Vitamin B12 (cobalamin) is a complex molecule with a cobalt atom in the centre. It is similar in structure to haemoglobin (blood pigment) with its iron atom in the centre.
Cobalamins are chemical compounds that occur in all living organisms. Their most important representative is coenzyme B12, the biologically active form of vitamin B12, which is a component of various enzymes as a cofactor (coenzyme).
The human body cannot produce vitamin B12 itself and is therefore dependent on dietary intake. Only certain microorganisms are able to produce vitamin B12. Although these bacteria are found in the intestinal flora, the amount of vitamin B12 produced is not sufficient to cover the body's requirements.
Piperine and vitamin B12
Piperine is an alkaloid, an alkaline, nitrogenous organic compound. The metabolic process that generates energy in the cells of the human body is known as thermogenesis. Thermogenesis has been shown to be an important factor in weight loss. It has also been found to play an important role in the utilisation of food and nutrients that the human body needs on a daily basis. Thermogenesis triggers mechanisms that lead to better digestion and therefore better absorption of nutrients.
Nutritive properties
- Vitamin B12 contributes to normal energy metabolism and has a function in cell division
- Vitamin B12 contributes to the normal function of the nervous system and to normal mental function
- Vitamin B12 and folic acid contribute to normal homocysteine metabolism and help to reduce tiredness and fatigue
- Vitamin B12 contributes to the normal formation of red blood cells and, like folic acid, contributes to the normal function of the immune system
- Folate contributes to the growth of maternal tissue during pregnancy and to normal amino acid synthesis. It has a function in cell division.

Take 1 capsule daily with or before a meal.
Notes from EnergyVital
Piperine extract is the active ingredient in pepper. As is generally known, it promotes digestion, which also has great benefits for the effectiveness of the absorption of nutrients. People with a sensitive stomach who cannot tolerate spicy foods should choose vitamin B12 without piperine from our range.
