FOOD STATE selenium is enriched in a food matrix that is obtained enzymatically from nutritional yeast. This achieves a particularly high biological availability in the organism and makes this product very well tolerated.
Multi-talented selenium - Selenium occurs as a trace element in numerous enzymes and therefore has many different functions in our body. For example, it is a component of antioxidant enzymes and contributes to a normally functioning immune system and normal hair and nails. However, it is also particularly well known for its role in the thyroid gland. There, as a cofactor, it contributes to the conversion of the thyroid hormone T4 into the active T3 form. Selenium is vital, but cannot be produced by the body itself. It must therefore be supplied through the diet and makes it advisable to pay particular attention to ensuring an adequate supply.
