Pyridoxine, also known as vitamin B6, is in the form pyridoxal-5-phosphate (P5P), which is what the body needs. P5P is the best vitamin B6 available.
What does the body need vitamin B6 for?
As a co-factor, pyridoxine is involved in more than 100 metabolic reactions. Pyridoxine plays a central role in growth and energy metabolism, as it is involved in the formation, conversion and breakdown of fats, carbohydrates and especially proteins.
The formation of the red blood pigment haemoglobin is dependent on a good supply of vitamin B6.
The body needs vitamin B6 to produce the myelin sheath, an important protective layer for the nerve tracts. This is necessary for the well-functioning transmission of nerve impulses
