OPC from the branded raw material Oligopin™ with 90 % active ingredient content
Oligomeric proanthocyanidins, also known as oligomeric procyanidins and abbreviated as OPCs (for oligomeric procyanidins) or PCOs (oligomeric proanthocyanidins), are familiar to many in connection with grape seeds and grape skins, but pine bark extract also contains a high proportion of these interesting plant substances. OPCs are naturally occurring substances in plants that belong to the group of flavonoids and are categorised as polyphenols. It is a colourless bitter substance, which is also available as Oligopin™. This means that Oligopin™ is made from the same raw material, but is marketed under the registered brand name. Our dietary supplement with pine tree bark extract contains 90% OPC. OPCs are mostly dimers or trimers of oligomeric catechins and exert an antioxidant protective effect against the effects of free radicals.
