Yeasts have been of central importance to human civilisation since time immemorial. They are used to refine food and are an important source of natural substances. In addition, certain yeast strains have an enormous wealth of essential building blocks.

NATURHEFE based on molasses is produced from a yeast strain of the species Saccharomyces cerevisiae, which is cultivated exclusively for food and thrives in a culture medium of sugar cane molasses. A drying process that is gentle on the vital substances inactivates the yeast cells in their fermentation process after harvesting.

NATURHEFE based on molasses is characterised by its high protein content of 50% on average (with all 8 essential amino acids). It is rich in valuable dietary fibre, including β(1,3)-glucan.
Particularly noteworthy is its high content of the B vitamins folic acid, biotin, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, pyridoxine and pantothenic acid. It is not for nothing that yeast is named as the basic ingredient in most vitamin B complex food supplements on the market. B vitamins make important contributions to the normal maintenance of a variety of metabolic functions, but are particularly well known as "vitamins for the nerves". They enhance any dish, e.g. simply sprinkle over salad, pasta with sauce or similar, which not only enhances the flavour of the food, but also improves its health enormously.

NATURHEFE on a molasses basis
