This product combines the well-known strains Lactobacillus acidophilus, LA-5, Bifidobacterium lactis, BB-12, Lactobacillus rhamnosus and GG, by far the best known strain. The result is an outstanding trio. Microbiol Trio Basis contains 3 billion CFU (colony forming units, or the number of viable bacteria that can multiply and form a colony). Also available as Microbiol Trio Platinum with 15 billion CFU.

Manufacturer Chr. Hansen

Chr. Hansen is the manufacturer of these bacterial strains and has been responsible for much of the research into these specific strains, including the combination in which they are now offered. This is unique and also very important! One bacterial strain (labelled with a suffix such as LA-5) is not the same as another, even if they belong to the same genus (in this case Lactobacillus) and species (Lactobacillus acidophilus). Strain-specific research is therefore particularly important.

Scientific research

There are more than 1100 scientific publications on the strain Lactobacillus rhamnosus, GG, of which more than 300 are human studies, making it the most researched Lactobacillus strain in the world. The strain Bifidobacterium lactis, BB-12 is supported by 370 scientific publications and 180 human studies, making it the most researched Bifidobacterium strain. Lactobacillus acidophilus, LA-5 is also very well researched and is supported by 150 publications, 60 of which are human studies.

Quality and shelf life

Chr. Hansen's advanced production process ensures that the capsules have a long shelf life outside the refrigerator in their sealed packaging. This is of course very practical in practice and in sales. Vitals has also opted for dark purple (almost black) glass, which protects the contents from the effects of air, light and moisture. In addition, the packaging contains a moisture-absorbing bag and is hermetically sealed with an airtight aluminium seal. This further ensures the viability of these bacterial strains.

About the name Microbiol

The name Microbiol is a derivation of the term "microbiome". It refers to all the microorganisms that live in and on our bodies, such as the intestinal flora. These bacteria have been part of our digestive system since birth. They include lactobacilli, for example. Bacillus rhamnosus GG is also known as LGG.

Ingredients

Release agent (rice fibres), vegetable capsule (pullulan, from fermented manioc starch), Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium lactis.

Recommended intake

Take 1 capsule per day with water with a meal. When taking an antibiotic, it is advisable to wait at least 2 hours between taking Microbiol Trio Basis and the antibiotic.

Advice

Consult your doctor or midwife before taking Microbiol Trio Basis if you are pregnant and are very overweight and/or have (gestational) diabetes.

Storage instructions

After opening, preferably store in the refrigerator. During use, if the cap is constantly unscrewed, moisture and air will get into the product. In order to maintain optimum stability during use, refrigerated storage may be advisable from then on. Unopened, the product can be stored at room temperature without any problems. The shelf life of this product is a maximum of 15 months on delivery.
