With more than 1100 scientific publications and 300 human studies, the knowledge of the unique properties of this strain is more comprehensive than that of any other probiotic product to date. In the Netherlands, this is the product with the highest dosage of this strain.

Study by the TNO (Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research)

Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG showed the most outstanding performance compared to other probiotic strains and mixtures in a recent, independent and impartial systematic review by TNO (2018). Only probiotic products that are available on the Dutch market and for which randomised, double-blind and placebo-controlled studies were conducted with the bacterial strain(s) or a combination thereof were considered. The aim of the study was to provide physicians and healthcare professionals with a scientifically sound guideline to advise them on the use of probiotic products to the best of their knowledge and belief. Three qualitative, independent human studies on Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG were awarded the highest rating of three stars. It is also the only strain to receive three stars. Six strains or mixtures also had one star. It is noticeable that this one strain achieved better results compared to formulations with several strains. It is therefore not always the case that more is better. This overview also emphasises once again the need to evaluate probiotics based on strain-specific research. Viability and quality

This bacterial strain belongs to the Danish company Chr. Hansen, which is also its manufacturer. Chr. Hansen specialises in probiotics. Thanks to their innovative manufacturing process, the capsules have a long shelf life in their sealed packaging outside the refrigerator. In addition, Vitals deliberately uses dark purple (almost black) glass for its probiotic products, which protects the contents from air, light and moisture in the best possible way. The packaging is also sealed airtight with an aluminium seal and contains a pouch that absorbs moisture. Finally, the products are produced and stored under controlled conditions. This ensures that these bacterial strains remain viable.

About the name Microbiol

The name Microbiol is a derivation of the term "microbiome". It refers to all the microorganisms that live in and on our bodies, such as the intestinal flora. These bacteria have been part of our digestive system since birth. They include lactobacilli, for example. Bacillus rhamnosus GG is also known as LGG.

Ingredients

Lactobacillus rhamnosus, rice starch (Oryza sativa), vegetable capsule (pullulan, from fermented manioc starch).

Recommended dosage

Take 1-2 capsules per day with water with a meal. When taking an antibiotic, it is advisable to wait at least 2 hours between taking Microbiol Platinum and the antibiotic.

Advice

Consult your doctor or midwife before taking Microbiol Platinum if you are pregnant and are very overweight and/or have (gestational) diabetes.

Storage instructions

After opening, preferably store in the refrigerator. During use, if the cap is constantly unscrewed, moisture and air will get into the product. In order to maintain optimum stability during use, refrigerated storage may be advisable from then on. Unopened, the product can be stored at room temperature without any problems. The shelf life of this product is a maximum of 15 months on delivery.
