L-methionine plus vitamin B6 for the immune system and protein synthesis
The sulphur-containing amino acid L-methionine is essential and must be obtained from food. Good sources are Brazil nuts and walnuts, meat, salmon, eggs and soya beans.
Better in the P-5-P form
Vitamin B6 is present as a highly bioactive compound (pyroxidal-5-phosphate), which is 10 times more effective than normal vitamin B6. No other additives are included, making WOSCHA L-Methionine Plus very well tolerated and suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
Tasks of L-methionine
L-methionine is the "starter amino acid" in the formation of proteins and the precursor of the amino acids L-cysteine and taurine, which also contain sulphur. In contrast to many other amino acids, L-methionine can easily cross the blood-brain barrier.
L-methionine is also a co-factor in the production of hormones and neurotransmitters (e.g. adrenaline, serotonin), choline and histidine. Its sulphur is required for the formation of sulphur bridges in the structural protein keratin.

Note from the manufacturer
High doses of L-methionine can accelerate calcium excretion. This is risky for osteoporosis patients. Gout patients should also only take methionine under medical supervision.
