L-arginine is an amino acid with the special feature that it contains more nitrogen than all other amino acids. This is due to its important function in our body. Our body is able to produce small amounts of L-arginine itself. However, this is not enough to cover our body's daily requirements.
The body needs arginine to produce protein, collagen, elastin, haemoglobin, insulin and glucagon. It boosts thymus activity and wound healing and increases insulin production.
