Ginkgo biloba resembles a deciduous tree, but is actually a conifer. Ginkgo is over 1000 years old, but is nevertheless extremely hardy. Although it is a conifer (conifers are also known here for their high content of active substances), it resembles a deciduous tree.
Ginkgo has been known in China and Japan for thousands of years as a temple tree and a plant used in traditional medicine. Its valuable ingredients include secondary plant substances, which are found in the leaves of the tree. Ginkgo is also known as the "living fossil", as it is the only living representative of a group of seed plants that is otherwise completely extinct. Natural populations are only known from the provinces of Chongqing and Guizhou in south-west China.

WOSCHA Ginkgo Biloba is highly concentrated and, according to the manufacturer, one of the highest quality gingko extracts currently available on the market. It consists of at least 24% gingkoflavone glycosides, 6% terpene lactones and 0.8% ginkgolide B.
