The classic body care and base oil for skin care and bathing
Pure almond oil (Prunus dulcis L.) is non-irritating and has a neutral odour. It is thin and absorbs quickly into the skin.
Known as a neutral skin care oil, almond oil has long been used in infant, child and elderly care and is favoured by people with hypersensitive skin in particular due to its fatty acid composition and excellent skin tolerance.
It is highly recommended both as a body care oil for applying directly to the skin and as a bath additive.
What is almond oil used for?
The oil is particularly beneficial for dry and sensitive, itchy skin. The oil can also be used to reduce stretch marks, scars and calluses.
Examples of applications for shea butter:
- Ageing skin
- Extremely dry skin
- Cracked skin
- Itching
- Hands after heavy use, e.g. by chem. substances, soap, etc.
- Scaly patches of skin
- Stretch marks
- Before and after sunbathing (particularly recommended!)
- Nappy rash on babies
- Massages and foot massages
Shelf life of almond oil
Almond oil has a shelf life of at least 3 years. However, it should be protected from constant exposure to light. As almond oil also has a very long shelf life, it can be mixed well with other oils and fats such as shea butter (approx. 20 %) without reducing the shelf life.
Application
Apply to the skin or mix with other ingredients such as evening primrose oil or borage oil to make creams.
